LT1 Computer & Wiring quesiton

I am fixing to wire up my 1983 z-28 for a LT1. I have a daily driver and I am sure this will take a while so I am going to start WAY ahead of time. I won't have the engine til probably september or so. I know that 93 had a MAF and 94+ had speed denisty or sometihng like that. Here's my question though:

1) If I buy a wiring harness from say a 94 z28 and a computer from a 96 z28 will they work together without problems?

2) Are steering columns in 4th gens and 3rd gens interchangeable? I think it would be alot easier to just put a steering column already wired up in there.

3) How do I go aobut the VATS thing? Is there any way to bypass it beacuse I had to deal with that in my 1990 Camaro and was a pain in the

You have it backwards. Speed density and no MAF for 1993. Later years had MAF and SFI.

I would stick with a computer and harness for the same year. There are differences when going from 1995 to 1996 because of the change to OBD2.

Don't know about the steering column. The key resistor can easily be defeated.

Yeah thats what I was thinking.

I knew it was something ike that I don't want to ay $350+ for a aftermarket harness so I am going to use a stock harness that hasn't been cut. I am going to try to get ones from the same year just incase something does change.

What way can you defeat the vats system
