lt1 383stroke. 153 or 168 tooth flywheel?
Do i need 153 tooth or a 168 tooth flywheel?
I already have an externally balanced crank/rods/pistons Also Anything special i should know about the front end balancer? I know it needs to be one compatible with a 3.75 stroke crank but anything else? |

The piece on the front of an LT1 should a neutral balanced harmonic damper. Not a balancer.
If your rotating assembly is externally balanced, they should have balanced it based on the standard balance weight on an LT1 flywheel or flexplate. Probably would have been a good idea to provide them with the flywheel. Might be worth checking with the shop that balanced it. |

Well it hasnt been balanced yet because im planing on bringing the flywheel and dampner with me to have it balanced. Can i use the syock flywheel or stock dampner with the 383 crank?

I was under the impression that when you stroke a 350 they use the flexplate and dampner when balancing the engine because a 400 crank is externally balanced
