LPE Super Ram's Available again !!
LPE Super Ram's Available again !!
I did not see any recent talk about these on here...
FYI LPE (Lingenfelter) has recently re-released the LT1 Super Ram manifold base again!! It's about $500 These were great for torque... & really suited for those of us who like to keep the rev's below 6500.
I thought it was pretty interesting since I still have my old TPI Super Ram & would just need the base to convert one of my LT1 rides (thnking about doing it to the truck)
Thought some of you would like to know since it's pretty rare these days for a company to be comming out with LT1 products... even though technically this is just an old product made available again

Re: LPE Super Ram's Available again !!
Wait thats 500 bucks for just the base, not runners an plenum. BTW do you just use the L98 runners and plenum on the LT1 superram base??? didnt see anything else lt1 related besides the base....
Re: LPE Super Ram's Available again !!
Interesting, 15-50hp not bad
We dont have much selection for Lt1 intakes, besides Lt4.
How does this work, it doesnt' look like it will fit ours? maybe a different pic somewhere?

Re: LPE Super Ram's Available again !!
wait so i would be able to use my slp siamesed runners and plenum from my old tpi setup on this?? im sure torque would increase amazingly, but wouldnt this KILL top end like tpi is known for dead topend?
Re: LPE Super Ram's Available again !!
It will fit. the picture provided is not the LT1 intake. once you change over the base. then you have to buy the Super Ram intake. This is a $1000 mod. I have one on my L98. Its worth it based on the fact its a torque intake. But the intallation isn't easy on 3rd gen it would have to horrid on a 4th gen. I find it funny they are charging 500 for the lt1 base and you can get a l98 base for 300 there cant be a huge difference in material.

. However, having used it before I can say it's worth it if youre building a torque motor. 383Z... btw the L98 base is $460.. not too much of a price difference... unless you found one used for $300

Wow that looks hot, so i would have to buy http://www.lingenfelter.com/lingenf...d=16&pf%5Fid=40
that to go along with the base????

Re: LPE Super Ram's Available again !!
well first thought is why step backwards in intake design. second would be if the whole superram will fit under the cowl of a 4th gen. third would be you'd have to buy a distributor plug to go into the back of it. the supperram has the distributor hole in the back for the conventional distributor. LT1 is optispark located down by the crankshaft.
Re: LPE Super Ram's Available again !!
Cool! I was looking for this intake for a long friggen time, but of course now that I gave up on my LT1 project, they reissue it. Maybe I should reconsider...

Re: LPE Super Ram's Available again !!
still don't get why you would want to go back to the TPI design that GM had from 85-92. and yes i owned one. after doing all the swapping of SLP runners,Edelbrock base, siamesing the stock base, i moved to the HSR.
Re: LPE Super Ram's Available again !!
Well, I'd like to increase the mid range torque. I don't take my car to the track so 6000 rpm is not hit very often. I just would like to have the extra 'pep' around for the streets.
