Low Coolant Light

I reciently noticed my low coolant light was fading on and off.. I decided it had been forever since I had Flushed and changed my coolant, so I did that.. Now the Low Coolant light is still fading on and off. I have checked the levels several times and everything is fine. Ive also bled the system and there is no air that i can find.. Any ideas???

The sensor in the radiator is bad. Everyone has that problem.

Yeah, after about 5 times of checking to make absolutely sure it wasn't really low, I finally just unplugged the sensor.

yes light goes away and no problems are made by unplugging it.

It's a low cost sensor, just replace it and have the protection of the sensor function.

Thanks for all the ideas.. This really sucks, The temperature sensor went out last week on my Jeep now the Coolant Level sensor goes out this week on my T/A... Thats some luck..

Re: Low Coolant Light

just an FYI, the sensors are pieces of crap (like someone said earlier) mine did that a long time ago and after checking it a couple times i just unplugged it. From then on out i just made sure i checked it everytime i washed the car (same time i check all fluid levels).......so i wasnt worried about it, but i did just now replace it. (after a year and half or 2 years without it i believe....haha)

I think i got mine for $30 shipped from jason chromer. for how cheap they are i would just go ahead and replace it, but i am anal about things on the car. So ya know

But b4 you do unplug it MAKE sure you dont have a tear or a spot in one of the coolant hoses that has dry rotted. That would be a huge problem.

Was happening to me, then I overheated and blew a headgasket and warped a head. Always be very wary about your coolant.

Hmm you guys are spoiled by modern technology.
My sensor went bad and turned the lite on so I pulled the bulb out of the cluster.
My feeling is if my old musclecars didn,t have it then my new musclecar don,t need it either.
No airbags, no 4 speed electronically controlled transmission, no coolant level sensor.
I cheat sometimes though.......I am keeping the fuel injection. :D
