Low Coolant Light

Had my car running tonight, got out and popped the hood and after I closed it and got back in I noticed the low coolant light was on. Drove to where we were going which took about an hour. Had my car off for an hour and when I turned it back on the light was back off. What would cause it to come on?? It defenetly seems like I false alarm.

Re: Low Coolant Light

Main 2 reasons for the light to come on is low coolant level or fualty level sensor.

Agree with above. Its common for the sensor to go faulty though.

Re: Low Coolant Light

Its weird for it to come on just for a while and then go off again. I would think if the coolant was low it would stay on no matter what.

Re: Low Coolant Light

I am new to the LT-1 cars as well. My car is doing the same thing. Where is that sensor located? Is it the one in the radiator or is it in the overflow tank like other cars?

Re: Low Coolant Light

about 3" below your radiator cap.

For all that's having trouble with it. Just unplug it.
