loud tick, opened valve cover, found this...help



so i put it back in place, and tightened it back down according to shoebox's website's instructions, and checked to make sure the pushrod was straight too. and it was


i still have a ticking noise coming from that area. my roommate says it could have been a collapsed lifter that caused the play in the valvetrain to cause this to happen.

it kinda sounds like it would make sense, but i wanted to get some other opinions on here as well.

shoebox, injuneer? chime in please!

I would check all of them for bent pushrods, readjust them per the instructions (check twice) and if the noise remains start thinking about a top end rebuild maybe?

It looks like the engine has been over rev'ed. Been bouncing off the rev limiter?

nope, i'm pretty careful about that.


and today it threw an SES light, overheated, and wouldnt shift all the gears.


this damn thing is out of control, and i'm sick of it. might just build a forged 355 with heads and cam and be done with it.
