Looking to go over the car during the winter, but need help
This winter, after the horrible times i put down with 4.11's, (14.4 @98.2, with a 2.2 60') im looking to go over all things that could possibly kill performance on a pretty much bone stock car(check signature).
I want to switch down to 3.42's because i was redlining 3rd gear b4 the end of the quarter mile, and driving in the city with these gears is killing my wallet big time. I seriously think for some reason i could get better times with smaller gears in this automatic, ( it may not be true but i believe it).
I need to change the plugs and wires, but i need insight into what are good choices. Should i change the o2 sensors and how many are there? Two right? Im not sure. What other sensors or things of the such that should be changed? I just changed my opti not two months ago and my starter. I believe there may be a vaccum leak , the previous owner said there was, although i really dont see any tell tale signs of one. How can this be checked out? I also want to do a tuneup, but since this is my first car and im doing all this myself pretty much, im really not sure what a tune up for this car is made of. If there is anything i missed, and im sure i missed something, please tell me, im getting really dissapointed in the performance of this car.
Thanks guys !
Dan

Re: Looking to go over the car during the winter, but need help
I ran the same thing in my 94 z, it is completley stock with the exception of no muffler and i took the air box out when i was running, so it was getting air straight through the MAF. As for gears i myself will probably go with 3.73's, my car will have a 6 speed after winter though.
