a little help please.

heres the deal. My Car has the high rpm miss right at 4600-5500rpm. was going through trying to see what it could be and couldnt figure it out.Now all of the sudden I got an SES light and the car runs great pulls hard all the way through and strong. code is P0100 (MAF or VAF) circuit malfunction.Twan and I hooked the car up to the computer and took a ride. MAF dropped way down when the car Missed or surged.so I replace the MAF, and still had the problem. Is there anything that could be causing this besides the MAF sensor itself?

Thanks,Sean

I would check the connector to the MAF. Mine has been acting funny, and sometimes throws the MAF code. I can't really figure out why, as I've replaced the connector, but I'm still getting the code occasionally. Perhaps its in the wiring.

Ah yes the proverbial MAF circuit. Well obviously a bad connection, rubbed through insulation or almost broke wire can cause it. But did you know, (pause for effect) any unmetered air can cause this DTC to set. Like:
Engine vacuum leak
PCV system leaks
oil dipstick not seated
oil fill cap not seated
