Lifters for hotcam.
My passenger side of my engine is making a tapping noise and the shop said it is because one of the lifters isnt pumping up all the way and the RR is making that noise. My question is this bad and robbing me of power. When i got the hotcam you guys said the lifters would be fine but i guess not. Maybe i need to change them out. How much would this cost and what kind should i get. Last question, is there any other reason for it to do this besides the lifter having a problem..........the car still feels strong but the ticking noise is pissing me off!!!!!!!!!!!!

A hotcams ramp rates aren't really all that steep and shouldn't kill lifters, revving it higher can however with the increased powerband of the cam. Change you oil and throw in a quart of tranny fluid with it and see if it goes away. Yes tranny fluid, the tranny fluid has more detergent in it than oil does and will clean out your lifters if they're clogged.
Good luck

Unfortunately you're gonna have to replace them for several reasons.
1. If the lifter is on it's way out, it will eventually collapse completely, and then bad things can happen.
2. If the lifter is not pumping up up all the way, the rocker arm that's attached to it isn't getting it's full range of motion. Your valve won't open all the way, thus robbing you of power.
I replaced my lifters when I put my cam in. Just go to autzone and pick up a set of Melling lifters, $130 bucks out the door for all 16 (yes you should replace ALL of them, not just the one that's broken), or if you feel like spending the money, you can go with a set from Comp Cams or Crane. The melling lifters are OEM, so they'll do just fine unless your revving you engine real high.
