Lets play a game of name that part
As some of you know, I am currently in the middle of a engine reinstall. Only problem is the engine came out in October, and I have forgotten alot since then. Mostly little crap. Anyway, I took some pictures tonight, and would like some feedback on what it is and where it goes. I know, it sounds hokey, but you guys have yet to fail me. I know what these really are, one is a knock sensor mic I believe, the other is a vacumn distribution block. Just not sure where they go. Also, the EGR and AIR is now gone. Is this vacumn block neccesary, or can I eliminate it completly. Same question for the knock mic or whatever it is. Can it be removed permantly? The other question I have is a few nipples on the intake. What exactly am I required to hook back up, considering my removal of the above mentioned componets. Anyway, here are the pics. They are in LARGE format so you can better see ya I am showing you. Thanks in advance guys!
Vacumn distribution block
Knock sensor
What hooks up to the ridged port in this picture?
What do these two nipples connect to?
Thanks for the help if you posted

Vacumn distribution block:
This is to your TB from your EVAP canister....
Knock sensor
The actual Knock Sensor, passenger side, middle of the block.
What hooks up to the ridged port in this picture?
Brake booster
What do these two nipples connect to?
One is heater, the other is EGR
On the vaccum, you need one for heater, one for EGR, and one for FPR. The large one is for the brake booster. The small ones don't matter as long as you have the either plugged or hooked to the FPR/Heater/EGR.
EDIT : You really need a knock sensor, it bases timing retard on how much knock. You can plug one of the smaller nipples off since there is no EGR, and i think the other larger hole can be plugged since you have no AIR (You still need one for the brake booster though

DUH, I forgot about the FPR. But the heater, I dont follow you on that one. Please elaborate.
Your right on the AIR, I will just plug the other large one.
I will put the knock sensor back in tomorrow. I dont understand how it works....Does something plug into it? If so it wasnt hooked up when I pulled the engine. But the PCV was totally wrong when I pulled then engine too. So I wouldnt put it past the previous owner to disconnect the knock as well.
Also, going to have to find where those lines run to the EVap canister. Isnt the evap can on the driver front?
