legal headers

does anybody make long tube headers with a CARB number

if not is it really worth it to upgrade my exhaust and still keep it legal, or will it not be worth my money

Thanks,
Greg

LT's aren't legal because they move the location of the cats so none will be carb. legal.

There's no long tubes with a C.A.R.B. E.O. number... no will there ever be, because long tubes re-locate the catalytic converter, which is against the rules in California.

FLP's have all the smog hook-ups, but are still not legal in California... you can get by with them basically anywhere else though I think, since they still have cats and all hook-ups.

Even if you decided to go w/ shorties that are legal, they are still light years better than those horrible factory manifolds

I believe AS&M are CARB legal. They are mid lengths and make good power. That might be your best bet.

AS&M doesn't list a CARB EO number on their site, but they do say it has all the emissions fittings.

If a product moves the O2s or CAT(s) it will not have a chance of being certified. CARB = California Air Resource Board, it stands for something, it does not just mean "has all emissions fittings." While AS&M dont have a CARB number, I know that at least one person has passed them, using a CARB # from another legal product, I think JBA but forget. I also know someone who used an SLP # on a MAC setup. Since almost no headers come with a CARB # welded on, and its not like the smog techs know every header model you have a good chance of passing unless its one of those shops that wont touch anything with aftermarket parts that are obvious.
