No, I got the LE1 cam, for now the car is a daily driver, so I went smaller with the cam, but in the future I can step up pretty easily.

How much does it cost for LE2 heads to be ported?

Mine was $1775, but that includes the following:

$1200 for the heads, complete.

$400 for the custom cam

$125 for the ported intake

$50 for shipping.

Keep in mind, the LE1 package comes in at $1100 for the completed heads plus the custom cam.

Thanks, right now it looks like everything should be buttoned up, tuned, and dyno'd by the end of july at the latest, so I will definitely post results then.

Its looking like the install will start next week, it might take a week or two, and then it will go straight to the dyno tune, as soon as they can fit me in. Watch the forum for a new post in 2-3 weeks with a scanned dyno sheet.

Alright sweet depending on your numbers and how it runs ill more than likely copy your setup or do something fairly close to it... i have been planning on doing le2 heads with the le1 cam but i miiight go with the le2 cam also... inform us when you get your results!

Heh...you know you want to....

Right now its looking like the car will be dyno tuned not this week, but towards the end of next. If you want to stop by, the shop said I was welcome to have a 'small' group there.

these cams like quite a bit of timing below 3000 RPM. 38 to 42 degrees even. Just keep giving timing to it and it keeps being more drivable and making more low end TQ. Run a NGK TR6 plug and you will be fine.

Above 3000, the timing should be similar to . . . .

3000 to 5600 about 36
5800 35
6000 34
6200 and up 34

These are gonna get you close and plus or minus another degree or 2 might make even more power but alot of people do not run this much timing and the car will usually not run as good.

They also like a lil more fual than most. Just keep adding fuel until the HP starts dropping. The A/F ratio will show it to be a lil rich but teh overlap of teh cam is allowing a lil un burnt fuel to go out the exhaust and give you a "false" reading on what the cylinder is actually seeing in terms of A/F ratio.

Hopefully these things help the tuner a lil and save hima lil time when surching for every last HP.

Why the TR6s?

I will definitely take that info along to the tuner. Thanks LLoyd.

cool, so its looking like next thursday or friday? I may have to try to get out of work early and come over looks like i can only get the cam with the heads so i'm thinking i'm just gonna wait on the rebuild and do it all next summer. I think i may pick up a winter car too, maybe a talon tsi or something like that. In the meantime i think i'm gonna do some suspension work and get a tune and then try to break into the 13's for now.
