What transmission/clutch/converter are you running?
What mods do you have? THis information will help others help you. |
M6? A4?
clutch?, converter? need more info to help you. |
I'm also interested. How about for a stock M6?
I think I remember launching best between 1800 and 2300 rpm myself, but would like other's opinions. |

How about stock a4 + converter + street tires ? What should you load the converted to in terms of RPM's ?

When i had Stock A4 + Stock Converter + 3.73 Gears + street tires + LCAs, RLBs and SFCs... I was launching at 1900 RPM and gently accelerating to WOT. With this style launch I was consistantly cutting 2.0 60 foot times.
Now with Stock A4 + Stock Converter + DROPPED to 3.42 Gears+ street tires + LCAs, RLBs and SFCs.... I am launching at around 1700 RPM and dropping the pedal to the floor and dropping the brake at the light and I'm stilling cutting 2.0 60 foot times. I'll be getting BFGoodwrich Drag Radials put on this Friday and I'll be trying them out at the track. I'll let u all know the results. |
Sounds good, please let me know the results.
When I was messing around last season with street tires with 30 psi 1500 RPM seemed to throw the car side ways. My best was going 1300 and foot to the floor. Haven't played too much since with 22 psi as I heard that was the best tire pressure to use in the rear tires |
Every car is different. Just keep playing with the clutch/gas until you find out that point inbetween bogging and spinning. Once you get off the line smoothly is smooth sailing after that. I beat so many people that way that drop the clutch off the line and rev up with their tires skirting and I just start off slowly just consistently getting the car moving so I can floor it without breaking loose.
