When you give a kickdown to the tranny (A4) ,almost redline do you damage anything.

Eventually you will.
The tranny can take some abuse - and that's what you're giving it.
Mechanical parts get hot from excessive friction.
Heat is the enemy.

Start putting away extra $50 dollar bills for a rebuild...
