Question K&n Cai

I have a newb question for you guys. Does anyone have a pic. of their k&n cai installed on their LT1 camaro? I was wonder how you get the filter down in the hole that is at the bottom of the engine bay b/c if you come from the bottom of the car and take off the panels, it makes it very tight to try to attach the filter to the main part of the intake (there is no room to actually tighten the metal clamps. Thanks for the help.

You have to go from the bottom. Just position the clamp so you can get a stubby flexible screwdriver in there to snug it up.

it's a tight squeeze, but you have to go through the bottom and keep working at it to get the metal ring clamp on. I'm only 170lbs so I was able to actually squeeze my whole arm from under the car, without using a jack. It make take you a while to get the filter on. I tried for about 15 minutes the first time I tried to get it on. Then I took a break for a little while and ended up getting it on there the first try after my break. Good luck! Don't give up!

YEP....just go from the bottom. Its not as bad as you think. Once you get under there its pretty EZ. You'll get used to it.

Another way is to jack it up and remove the tire. Remove the front inner fender, and the space where the filter goes is so accessible you won't believe it. It makes it much easier than going through the bottom. Especially when it comes time to tighten the clamp.

I found that drinking more beer, swearing and throwing tools at the damn cat that walks on my car helped my installation go better.

Actually, it just takes patience and try putting a little oil on the filter where it attaches to the plastic intake. It will slide on easier.
