is it just me or?

I installed my Mac headers and made a homemade ram air scoop under the car. I can tell a nice SOTP difference and can barely keep the tires planted in first and second. anyway, the motor seems to spin ALOT easier than ever. I mean I will be at redline before I realize it.
I put on headers, changed plugs/ wires and homemade ram air scoop then I notice the difference.
Is this normal or just one of those things?

Might have corrected a problem also when changing plugs and wires but headers is one of the better mods.

Re: is it just me or?

I did my headers, ORY, catback, wires, plugs, and mail-order tune altogether and it was definitely a night and day difference. I'm sure it didn't help that the car has 93K and the wires were original as were the stock Delco plat. plugs. The pucks fell off of every plug and the gaps were in the .080 range! I never understood why the previous owner would have the transmission and rearend fluid changed twice a year, but he never changed the plugs or wires for the duration of his ownership.

My GRA (ghetto ram air) was worth 1 to 2 MPH in the quarter on my car.
It picks up to 104 from 102/103 without it.
I have deleted the fog lights so I am going to hide the GRA in the driver side foglight hole so people don,t make fun of me anymore.

yea i pulled a plug on my car for the hell of it the other day, and ill be damned if mine arent original. car has 83k on it now, i bought it w/ 75k. I can tell it needs a tune-up, but ive been putting it off until i get my headers, which should be within the next year

How well did your headers fit against the head? Did you get a good seal? I just got my MACs in today and I'm noticing that the flanges are not all aligned on the same plane. Looks as if I will have leaks.

Haha, ghetto ram air.....i like that. When I did it to mine I didn't really feel much of a difference, but I do run very good at the track for my mods as seen in my sig. I don't get made fun of by anyone, heck I show it to people since its sorta custom ya know

Re: is it just me or?

my headers seemed to fit perfect, no unneven flanges or warpage. i bought a felpro gasket and it all fit great.
it looks kinda goofy but I like my GRA, I cleaned the filter the same time I did that so it was breathing alot better already, but It don't look too bad. I also lined the top and sides of that "air box" with the same sheet metal to try and help keep some engine heat out. who knows if it does any good but I get bored waiting on money mods.

Re: is it just me or?

I just got some used mac headers but on one header it has a slip on part on one primary and it looks like the last guy had a bunch of sealant on it. What do I do with it? Is it so its easier to install or something?

ok that really is ghetto... I used some sheet metal type stuff and cut it out and bent it to form up a nice scoop and then connected it with screws. It looks decent, but I need to paint it black so it doesn't stick out so much. When I made it I actually had to do it 2 times, cause the first 1 I made stuck too low and got trashed when I pulled out of my driveway
