ummm..My guess would be a bad ground, try new plugs and wires..If that doesnt help you might need a opti. How old is all of that stuff? Is it hard to start? does it cut off or surge?

Doesn't look good. About the only things that will get the car to throw this code is the opti or the wiring from the opti to the computer. Although the presence of that code does not neccessarily mean your opti is dead, and vice versa. Good luck.

I wouldnt worry about them too much. Just clear the codes and see if they return. If the car is running fine then they are probably just a fluke. I get random codes every once in a while and the only reason I know is b/c I have a scanmaster in my car otherwise Id be like 90% of the ppl on this board who think b/c theres no SES there are no codes stored in the PCM.

yes the car is hard to start sometimes, the plugs and wires are like 2 weeks old
so this maybe isn't the opti?
Re: just had my car scaned, code 42'- and 36?
check the condition of the opti connector. clean it if needed and clear the codes. I would bet that you have lost your high res signal. This is why you have extended cranking time and will probably notice poor fuel econ and lack of performance
