jb weld oil pickup?

so i tapped in my oil pickup tube and it was nice and tight...so after letting it sit for a day i came outside to find the pickup on the floor...im thinking about smearing some jb weld on the part of the pickup that slides into the pump and letting it sit for a day or 2....anyone ever done this? think it will work?

No way I would put anything that might hold in the engine oil supply.

Jegs has a clamp for holding on the oil pump pickup- you will spend just as much in shipping to get it.

I welded mine on and put the clamp on after putting lock-tite on all the bolts..oil is kinda important to your motor- don't take ANY chances

Hell no on the JB Weld. I would not even run an aluminum pickup. What is the benefit of aluminum? Get a steel one and weld that thing on solid. My pickup fell off recently and it was a miracle I did not lose my motor.

I had a issue like that with getting mine in, I had to put the pickup in the freezer and warm up the pump. I don't know if yours was not seated in all the way like mine was, give it a try if your not sure you had it seated in all the way.

Got a magnet? It will be attracted to ferrous metal (aluminum is not).

I don't know why a new pickup would just fall out by itself after install. Usually they are so tight, they are extremely hard to get in. Something doesn't sound quite right.

Melling 1055 steel OEM pickup for $12.00 at most parts houses. Identical to what it came with.
