Intake gasket

I believe I have my oil leak pinpointed to the intake gasket. I am going to try to repair this myself. I have never done this before. What tools will I need before I start? Is this a difficult job for someone who has never done this before?? Thanks.

Re: Intake gasket

Very easy to do. Just make sure your very clean. Blow the intake off before you start.Take a picture of the intake. It helps to remember where the hoses and wires go. Also masking tape to number connections. Take a peice of cardboard cut holes to hold intake bolts in order. All of this will help keep everything together. If you need more help. Send me a p/m. Also you can check out Shoebox's site. Good luck

Re: Intake gasket

The rear portion of the intake is covered in gunky oil. Its either that or the main seal. I get a few drops everytime I park it.

Re: Intake gasket

Probably the infamous rear intake oil leak due to GM's lack of correct sealant application.

Here's a link to Brents site for a walk thru : http://www.bfranker.badz28.com/fbody/intakefix.htm
