Installed new 17x9.5 wheels, roaring has occured. Whats wrong?
I had these wheels on my previous 93 Z and there was no problems at all. There is a car show next weekend and i'm starting to get my car ready so i put my wheels on. I had it lined up and proper air inflation in the tires. Its not a constant roar, something like it roars...stops...raors...stops. Its in the front end definitely. Car drives fine. Doesnt vibrate, the steering wheel doesnt shake..nothing pops or anything..just a slight roar above 35mph or more. Any ideas?

Sounds like the front bearings to me..
Its a hub assembly, Id replace the hubs.. Possible they are being a little more stressed than with the stock wheels, because upgrading to a larger/wider tire offsets teh camber a bit.. |
Something else it could be are the tires are chopped or worn incorrectly from lack of rotation, or an alignment problem..

the front tires are pretty worn out. i was thinking mabye thats what it was.

Take your hand and feel over the the tread. Sometimes they will cup on the inside or outside. That can make them cause noise.
