Re: input on the random tech catback system?
I haven't heard the Random Tech catback in person, but I have heard it on a video. It's definitely one of the louder, more free flowing catbacks out there. I also have a screen shot of the muffler and you can see straight through it, so you'll definitely pick up a few horsepower. I looked long and hard at this catback before I went with SLP, but since you're getting it for free I think you'll be happy.

Re: input on the random tech catback system?
Difference between Slp catback and the Random is the one thing very
few manufacturers state....Tailpipes which have 3"dia. Slp = 2 1/2 as are Borla, Corsa and the majority of exhaust manufacturers, that 1/2" diff. is quite a bit. Random has the 3" tailpipes and Stainless steel. Most manufacturers or aftermarket companiew only state intermediate pipe dia. ie. 3" intermediate and 3 1/2 or 4" tips, no-one pays attention to the dia of the tailpipe coming out of the muffler. Fasttoys.net = $550. USD. Others for $650 and more. see Year one, etc. 95Z28LT1A4 Red w/Black Ttop. Full race suspension, 3:83, MSD, Holley 52 mm Billet TB, descreened, gutted MAF, all relocations, bypasses too much to list. |
Re: input on the random tech catback system?
followed one of the YearOne guys for a few hundred miles with a R/T on his LT1 car in a F-Body convoy many years ago. One of the nastiest sounding exhaust I've ever heard (nasty as in sick-good!) I like the RT on my LS1 car, and I really enjoy the Mufflex 4" single on my LT1 car as well.
In short! Get it! great looking, great performance, and great sound! |
