Injectors

to change the subject line.

Please check my post. I was wondering how to check for bad injector, I searched and I found out that you can test them by pulling one out at a time and paying attention to the idle.
my question is, do i need to pull the whole injector or just the clip on top of it? Another thing is on the driver side, i see some black stuff by like the side of the injectors..i dont know if thats normal, but on the passenger side its clean. A mechanic told me that my vibration could be due to miss firing.

I started my car and pull the clip of the injectors (driver side and just the clip) one by one, and none of them changed the idle, im I checking it right or do I have to pull the whole thing out?

Is there any guide on how to replace injectors...how hard is it. What injectors do I need basically stock. If I do have to change them I kind of want to upgrade just a lilttle bit.

is there any good pictures of injectors mounted on the car to see for reference. Another thing, is the injectors supposed to be loose. I waggle mine and I can turn them..

please help

this is where I started my thread at, but the subject line is not correct anymore :)

Pull the injector connector. If the idle changes, the injector is working. If it doesn't, then it's not working. Pretty basic.

Pull the harness connector off the injector... do not pull "the whole injector".

Hard to believe you couldn't feel any difference when you pulled each harness connector off..... you were pulling the harness connector off, and not just the injector retaining "clip"???????

do you guys have any picture? yeah i push the clip and pull it off separating it from the injector.. did not feel a thing.

Pull out THOSE connectors

there some change in some of them,, just a little bit though, and im talking about a little bit. But there is like three already I pull and has no effect to the idle.

I have a vibration RPM sensitive and its more noticeable (stronger) at around 2100ish. but the vibration starts at 1500 and seem to be unnoticeable (but still there) after 4000 RPM's.

I replaced the opti, plugs and wires and water pump.

Is it time for new injectors? what should I get (stock car but would like to upgrade if I have to get one). How hard is it to install? thanks

links to good injectors would be greatly appreciated. thanks

edit:

so if there is one or two mess up injector, the car will still run right but might be experience this vibration thing?

I'd recommend ACCEL 30# ones or you could go the Ford SVO route. Also, Bosch makes them, but I'd just stick with ACCEL. Do a google search for all these companies. My ACCEL 30# ones were around $239 which is way better than paying to have one or two of yours fized or cleaned. That gets expensive.

man this is so confusing! I went to a respectable tranny shop locally and this tech told me that the vibration is DEFINETELY my torque converter.

I dont know what to do!

get a second opinion at another tranny shop.
could be your tranny mount, tires out of balance, car is out of alignment, etc..

yep and if you have a stumble it very well could be your fuel pump

also if you want cheap (good quality) injectors fyi: www.gefracing.com look under the 5.0 section then in the air/fuel page

its not the tires (replaced) not the alignment.. cause its not speed related.

the car have vibrations in :

1500 - 2000RPM --> steering wheel
2100 - 2500RPM --> foot (a little stronger the the steering wheel)
2500 up --> feel it in the back of the car.

I took a look at under the car while having a wood push the pedal..:) and I think that the vibration is comming from somewhere behind the oil pan.

I went to a performance shop and they told me its missing under low RPM and it could be my injectors. The dealership checked my injectors and fuel pump and says they were good. but the performance shop used to work there and he said that they dont check because of laziness!

I changed my opti/plugs/wires.

NOTE: THIS VIBRATION OCCURS WHEN IN PARKED AND OR NEUTRAL. I THOUGHT IT WAS SUSPENSION RELATED AT FIRST BECAUSE I FEEL A VIBE WHILE DRIVING, BUT WHEN I PARKED THE CAR AND REV THE ENGINE.. THE SAME VIBE STILL THERE.

I dont know because i get two different opinions and two different mechanics,, could be biased..so im CONFUSED!

The transmission just been rebuilt before I bought this car.

is it necessary to replace the torque converter or is it just loose? how can I tell?
