Question I need advise

The chevy dealer told me that the PCM is bad and the cost to repair is $725.00 they said they would have to order a new one?
Don't they just replace the bad flash mem chips and reprogram?
I don't feel like thats worth 725.00 ! even if I did have the money
I think its too much. Do I have any options? can I buy a replacement PCM and if so where do you reccomend and how much? would a replacement PCM come programed or would I have to have that done?
thanks for your help guys!

You can buy a programmed PCM from PCMforless.com for much less than $700. Mine with LT4 KM and tuning was something around $330 to my door.

94 Z28 PCM

WOW thats a big price difference! I know they have to make a profit....but thats seems greedy. don't you think the dealer is just using a rebuilt unit?
I don't know what programing I would need for a 94 Z28 thats completly stock except for the flowmaster exhaust? it seemed to have plenty of power when it was running properly, it sucks now that it has this problem.
What kind of programing would you suggest for my car?
94 Z28 Auto, flowmaster nothing else yet! sounds boring I know but it's sure a nice change for me after being stuck driving
nothing but minivans full of kids for it seems like forever!
Now I get to have some fun and this is what I'm starting with.
After getting a taste of the power this car has.....I would like anything that would improve performance. I don't care about
gas mileage anymore just the need for speed.
thanks for any info you can provide
Forest can't wait to run again!

A remanufactured computer when I check for a '96 was only about $120 with a $450 core plus around $40 to flash it.
Don't walk away, RUN!!!
Madwolf just became a vendor here and could probly fix you up, or PCMforless.com.

Stock PCMs usually go on eBay for less than $100.00.
