hypertech power programmer
is it worth the money to buy the power programmer 3 vs a pcmfortuneless tune or should i get the tuneforless tune, which will give me the most performance gain with the list of parts i have in my sig?

Don't waste your money on the Hypertech, it's basically worthless other than changing the speedo for rear gear swaps. The "power tune" it offers has actually caused people to lose horsepower. Even with just bolt-ons you stand to benefit from a mail order tune. I had a bolt on tune from pcmforless and I could tell a difference.

The HPP is virtually useless as a "tuner". With your mods, you need a custom/mail-order tune. Tou can gain 10-15 HP even on a totally STOCK setup. The HPP "performance" programming has been shown to lose HP on a "stockish" engine, unless combined with the 160*F t'stat and lower fan on/off temps. Throw in a few mods and the HPP produces even less. A used programmer might be useful for gear ratio changes, tire diameter, shift points, rev limiter, speed limiter, etc..... but once you get a mail-order tune, you usually get minor updates at a reduced cost.

Like it has been said, go with a mail-order tune, pcmforless offers updated tunes for a discount...at least they do with the speeddensity guys that run chips.
