hypertech

I was told by someone today that you can now get hypertech to do an advanced tune that plugs in the bottom of the unit to reflash the PCM. He said that you could call hypertech and let them know what you had done and they would customize an upgrade for ~$150. Anyone heard of this?

I already have it and am looking at adding a cam and 1.6 rrs. So the initial investment is already there and if this is true then what is the diff in going with them vs. any other generic ship to you PCM change?

Try it then, if you dont like it, you can always pay $100 to get what you really want.

This is the same thing as any mail order tune though, they will maybe do a little math and make some educated guesses, and hopefully it turns out OK in your favor, if not then you wasted some dough.

You SHOULD do ok with a mail order tune if its a copycat setup thats been done a million times, still though every car is different and individual tweaks are nice. If its a different cam that hasn't been done a million times, your luck is a total tossup, I know that one from a failed mail order experiment of my own.
