How to refill the A/C

I took out the raditor andwhen the A/C line was taken off, I got all this refrigerant **** that was cold as hell all over my face. Now A/C wont work. What do you reccomend I do.... what do you think the costs would be.

well since the system was completley opened it will have to be vacummed to get all the air and moisture out plus make sure it doesnt leak....if you can find the fitting HARD to do because they have a patent on them. you can make a vaccum out of an old refrigerator compressor. but best is to seal the system up i wouls reccomend a new drier but seal it up and have it taken to a proffesional to have it vacced it should be pulled down to -30 psi and vacced for about 45 mins if you have your own guages you can charge it yourself after the vac but if you dont know what you are doing have it donne professionally. when i was in college i web watched a video of some one charge the ac system on ther high side and the can exploded needless to say the technician has the "hand delete mod now" but at shops to have it vacced is usually about 40 bucks and charged is about 25 for labor plus 134 so total about 80-100 dollars.
