My dad has really become interested in rebuilding engines (and cars in general) ever since I've started.

So out of the blue he tells me he wants to build an engine from scratch (no complaints here ) And since I have an LT1 I figure, I'd like to start with them.

Now, I'm definatly not new to rebuilding small blocks (I've never done an LT1 but I have done plenty of older V8 trucks and V6's with no problems at all) but I was wondering...

What is the best route to go? Should I buy a scrap LT1 off e-bay and tear it down then rebuild it? Or should I start with just a scrap block and work from there? I also can get parts for SBC pretty cheap through a friend.. so on average, what kind of profit could I make if I were to sell them?
