How much would you pay to get Loing Tubes installed

I live in Alabama currently, stuck here for flight school and I went to the Chevy dealership and they said they would install long tubes for $450. Is this a pretty good deal or shoudl I look elsewhere? DOes anyone know anybody around the Ft.Rucker area? Also do you have to block off the EGR whenever doing this mod and what kind of programing is nessecary to get the full performance out of these headers?

i instaled them for a friend on his LS1 for 100$

It's a lot of labor.( approx 8 hours at least)

If you can find someone who will do it for $200, that's a bargain in my opinion. I did them myself, but I always have access to a lift.

I wouldn't pay a dime. Well maybe a case of beer for me and a buddy, but this job wasn't that bad...

Just do it yourself!

I would do it myself but I am currently at flight school and 8 hours of free time is extremely hard to come by.

They are supposed to be easier on a LS1 but for a LT1 I would say 200-300 is a fair price.

got mine done for 300.00 as far as the ERG, it depends if you buy headers with emissions hookups or not. Jet-hot has them, dont know about others. If you dont need emissions stuff i'd rip all that outta the engine bay, looks a lot cleaner

$450.00 is a fair price for a job well done where there are no leaks or bolts backing out years later!

$450 devided by $75/hour = 6 hours labor. thats a good deal for a dealership. just make sure you also get either OVTC wires, or heat boots for your stock wires. they might not realize you need attention in that area when doin these and that will just make it take alot longer to get done once they have taken it all apart. also it wouldnt hurt to make sure the tech thats doin it is familiar with the swap. maybe just write down the address of some install site or something for him to look at. and if you want to gaurantee your bolts wont back out, get the locking stage 8 bolts or those new locking bolts with the allen lockbolts in the middle.

and FYI, the hooker long tubes are 5TIMES as easy on an LS1. Ive done them both, I know.

Thanks

I appreciate the help, was kinda hoping to find someone in here that knows somebody. BUt at least with GM I can go yell at them if something goes wrong. I found a set of hookers for 450 on this board so I just need to get a Y-pipe and I'll be on my way!

Make a post in your regions section on this board. (towards the bottom of the main forum page) Maybe someone is local and can help ya out.
