How much race gas?

Im running 12.8 to 1 compression on my 383 and Im seeing up to 13 of KR at 3k rpms and up. Im running at the track tomorrow and they have race gas there(i think 110octane). How much do I need to put in my car per gallon of regular 93?

Thanks

Cody

I don't know if there's any way to calculate how much race gas. But that 110 is going to be leaded gas, and will kill cats and O2 sensors. What you need is an unleaded race gas (more like 100 or 101 octane) and personally I'd use a much of that as possible (ie, try to run as close to 100 octane as you ce) and monitor your KR closely.

If it were me, I'd put in a half tank of the highest octane petrol you can find (for me it would be Chevron's 94) and then add a bottle of their octane booster.
The bottle will have calculations as to how much it will treat to make a certain octane.

I believe this will be your cheapest/safest bet.:)

Good Luck!

Sounds like good advice from Dave. The only thing I'd do differently if running race unleaded is to diable the KS in the PCM program. There is no reason for your combo to have timing related knock on 100+ octane fuel and at WOT it's almost inevitable to see KR unless your motor is bone stock.

I always run mine when at the track with the KS didsabled, and I am running 15-17psi of boost and nitrous. Never had any indications of detonation with 104 octane unleaded.
