How much lift?
How much lift?
Re: How much lift?
I don't believe it's the rockers you should be worried about pertaining to lift, but your springs retainers and locks.. The RR's just take the lift of the cam multiply it by the ratio on them.. 1.6 usually and push the valve down that far. So I'm not sure that it matters how much they can take, but I do know that typically you don't put over a 590 lift or so on an LT1 just because of valve clearence issues, but someone might correct me on that.

Re: How much lift?
Im pretty sure thats not right..People use 1.6's on gm847 and if Im right that is .595 lift. I know the GM 1.6 were only good up to like .560 lift or something like that.. The came Im running is .595 so I gotta be sure the rr's are ok with that..
Re: How much lift?
Not an expert on this, but the instructions that came with my LT4 rockers, which are made by Crane and are self aligning like the ones in your Summit link, say not to go above .575 in. lift, or severe valve train damage WILL occur. Perhaps this is because they are self aligning and the ends of the rocker where the roller for the valve tip is, extend past the roller. Maybe it could hit the retainer. I noticed on the non self aligning, the roller extends past the end of the rocker, therefore no possible interference.
I would call Crane's tech line to be sure.

Re: How much lift?
The LT4 rockers were made by crane to GM specs, actually GM called for a reduced max lift of these rockers for strength. The gold series (ones in the link) by crane can provide more lift than 0.575.
The max lift the rockers can provide depends on the length of the slot at the top of the rocker body, the longer the slot the greater th left.
