The best PEAK numbers I have seen are around 290 cfm from AI. Mind you it is not only the peak number that is important but the flow from when the valve opens all the way up to peak flow.

Sounds about right for me too. You can get 280-290 out of a good set of ported stockers. Not sure what it will do to the rest of the low and mid lift numbers though.

sounds decent, i just picked up another set of stockers and i sent them to a guy in PA that has built alot of nhra ,nascar, engines , and hopfully he will make them flow very nice threw out the lift range i wanna run ,

im going NA with a 150 wet shot plate , ported lt1 intake to match the heads ,and custom ground cam .600 + lift ,LS7 lifters, now i just gotta figure out what inj lbs i should run with the NOS , but i have a feeling im gonna need a 9in in the back before the nos with ET streets

More importantly, how do they work??

Flow numbers are a tool for the porter and a great marketting aid in swaying the layman. They are NOT the measure of a head's ability to make useful power on the track.

Games can be played with valve jobs and such that will not last on the street too. Far too easily manipulated to be basing decisions on this.

The heads were ported by Edwards Motorsports here in Florida. I don't have any dyno numbers yet as the new engine only has 10 miles on it.

Dynos are not the measure of performance either.

Yeah, I was going to mention Carter. Carter Edwards, from Edwards Motorsports, managed to get 300+ CFM out of a set of stock LT1 heads and had a CNC program for them for a while. As I understand it, he found it too expensive to keep up that CNC program. I honestly don't know if he is even still making them.

What cam did you wind up going with Cheezer? Last I heard, Carter was rather in favor of something like a 233/239. However, he was always in favor of matching the cam to the heads and not the other way around.
