How many coolant sensors do I have??

My "low coolant" light has come on a couple of times. I'm wondering if the sensor that contorls that light is going bad. The coolant level is ok. How many sensors are in the cooling system?

The sensor you're referring to is on the pass. side of the radiator about 5 inches down.

yes they go bad all the time. Just unplug it and make sure you know the cooling system is in working condition at all times.

I was have the same problen...It isn't by any means the sensor. I placed the cap with one from the dealer. The light hasn't come back on yet! I believe it has to do with the overflow bottle being below th radiator. if the isn't a good enough seal then it isn't going to pull all the needed coolant back into the radiator. There for, it is low until the engine gets hot enough and the water expands again. IMO, this is a very important sesor and should be in good working condition to avoid overheating. Due to, low coolant level.. food for though..

When I first bought my car I had issues with the sensor. Either I had air pockets in my system or had a bad cap. Either way, it wasn't the sensor. The light finally went out and about 3 hours later it resulted in coolant spewing/volcanic reaction all over a parking lot. :blah:
