Depending on your ring's and clearances.Ask your builder.Change your oil after about 30 minutes-- then if it seems OK( cut filter open and look for metal) put it on the interstate for 100M or so--change oil and cut filter open--if it looks OK--DRIVE IT LIKE YOU STOLE IT

Good Luck with the new beast.

More is better, thats what I was always taught. Go with 1000

I put 500 miles on it then see if I can break drivetrain parts. The last one took out the front Ujoint on the first full throttle run.....:)

Thats the way to do it.If you want it to BE fast, you break it in FAST

it doesnt take aslong as some think to break in a engine your for getting that they are operating a 1,000plus rpms. I break my engine in by going letting it idile for 10min, then slowly bring up the revs to 3000 and back down for another 10min. change the oil then go for a test session(6,800rpm 2times) and change oil, then good to go. you forget people break there cars in on dynos. your ring seat within 20min of engine operation and everything falls in place after that.:)

there are a lot of schools of thought on this... and how long, and how you break in a motor will depend on many things... what type of hone was used, what type of rings are being used, and how were they installed, and what kind of tolerances are there in the lower end as far as bearing clearances. people do it in many ways and have success many differeny ways. if you find something that works for you, stick with it.

Get it set up where it drives and idles right,do all of this before your first oil change and your 100M.
