I have removed the 4 7/16" bolts and those little retainer pieces at the rear ujoint. Its my understanding that you must push the ds into the tranny and then bring it out and down.

This is the first time removing the ds, and its stuck damn good in there. any tips to getting it out? BFH?

I used a tire iron to detach it from the yoke. Insert something similar between the yoke and u-joing and push carefully. It should come out pretty easy.

mine jsut slid right out, at least as far as coming off the yoke. it slid forward and then took some tugging and pulling to squeeze it down between the torque arm and the exhaust.

you could remove the two bolts on the back of the TA and move it aside to get some more room. that may help
