How are Dynatech Headers ??

I got my new Jegs today and see that they sell Dyantech Longtube headers with ceramic coating for 410 bucks. That seems like a really good price for longtubes, wondering if anyone has heard anything about them or used them, or if they're a new product.....

If you read carefully, you will see that the collectors for the Dynatech headers are ssold seperately, at $100 a piece. So that makes them $610, plus you have to buy a Y-pipe. Dynatechs are nice from what I hear, but Jet-hots or Hookers will perform very similarly for less money. Good luck.

I read that, however, I was planning on getting a custom Y pipe made for my car since its lowered. My roomate has an LS1 with FLP's and the Y pipe hangs so low half of it is visible from looking at the side of the car. I dont know if LT1 Y pipes are the same, but if so, I definitely wouldnt have the clearance. So if I did end up buying these headers, I'm assuming i could have them weld reducers directly to the open collector and start from there.

You still need collectors, unless you are gonna weld reducers onto the 4 pipes on each side, which I don't see that working out too well. As far as ground clearance, I've heard that the FLPs are supposed to be the best. Hookers hang real low, at least on my car they do. You can see the exhaust from the side, which is the only thing I don't like. Ground clearance was reduced as well. Y-pipe doesn't scrape, but collector flange does, as well as mufflers, since I don't really have a y-pipe, its an x pipe cause of the true duals.

If these are for a street car that is going to have an exhaust system, get the FLP's. The FLP's already have the collectors attached and they come with a Y-pipe. The FLP's have the provisions for the EGR. Dynatech's are basically for race only vehicles.

Dynatech and FLP headers are exactly the same design. I know this for a fact because I had a set of FLP's and a set of Dynatech's in my posession at the same time and was able to compare them. Dynatech makes FLP's headers for them.

Let's not forget to mention that Finish Line Performance LT's with the Y-pipe is around $1100! I got my TPiS LT's for $450 shipped and they have the absolute best clearance of any long tubes that I've seen. They really hug the bottom of the car and are much lighter than Jet-Hot's or Hooker's...

I also had a custom 3" Y fabbed up and installed for $86!

My friend has dynatech headers on his 01 TA and with 2 high flow cats and a slp loudmouth exhaust his car sounded insane. But the ground clearance was a huge problem. Yeah and the collectors are sold sep. he got some of these race collectors not sure of the name but they were close to 200 a piece. But now he put a nasty cam and heads on the car and it sounds awesome.

Dynatech is located not 20min from my house in Boonville, Indiana. I didn't even know this until about 4 months ago when a friend told me.

Check out www.tpis.com for TPiS long tubes. They run around $800 coated and you can get an offroad Y-pipe for another $190.
