LOL I knew someone was going to refrence Fred's car. I know all about the Fernco pipe and have that which connects the TB to the MAF... but Fred does not run a maf since he has a motec ecu. So I am back to wondering how the maf connects the the ws6 airbox...

Depending on what MAF you are using...

The stocker - there is a rubber piece that slips inside the Airbox, and over the MAF.

My setup - I have a Fernco coupler cut in half that slips over the Airbox and MAF, they are a perfect match on OD and ID.

I'm curious on this, just want to be clear. You have the front part of the split Fernco with one end OVER the MAF and the other end INSIDE of the airbox??? Or do you have the fernco OVER the airbox also??

Reason I ask is that I've got a 93, no MAF, and a WS6 Airbox. I'm using a K&N CAI tube (the plastic MAF delete tube) which sits on the inside of the airbox and the inside of the Fernco. Problem I see is that if you take the filter out of the airbox and look down the intake tract, you can see how the tube sitting in there creates an obvious ridge which I could see causing quite a bit of turbulence with the incoming airflow.

I'm just wondering if you have it routed the same way, because with the extra thickness of the Fernco vs. my plastic tube, you could be choking the motor from the beginning a little bit. Did you maybe try the 4" to 3" adapter Fernco makes and go over/over at the attachment points?

If you read my sig you'd notice I'm not running a stock MAF, I'm running one off of a Z06 Vette. The MAF has a 4" OD Inlet, which just happens to be the exact same OD as the Airbox outlet.

A stock MAF has a OD of 3.5", thus the requirement for a reducer, with the Z06 MAF, there is no need to reduce the size.

I just cut a Fernco couple down so it was about 1/2 as long, and did the hot-water trick, it slipped right over both parts with zero issues. If you look on Page 5 of my website you can see a picture of the setup.

Ok, I just wasn't sure if you could get the 3" ID Fernco to stretch over a 4" OD airbox end. Thanks for the heads up.
