how do I wire aftermarket cooling fans?
Hey guys, I bought some slimmer aftermarket fans since the stock ones did not clear the turbo. Each fan has a hot wire and a ground.
If I just cut the plugs off the factory fan harness and connect those to my new fans, will they still work right with the high/low speed function of the stock computer? I'm pretty stupid when it comes to wiring so I really appreciate any help!
Also, if I can do it that way, I need to know which wire is ground or hot.
Driver's side factory fan plug
Lt. Blue = ???
Lt. Grey= ???
Passenger side factory fan plug
Black = Ground?
White = Hot?

Lt blue=hot
Lt grey=to 2nd fan (think of it as ground, but it goes to the second fan to enable dual fan operation at low speed)
black=ground
white=hot
Should work, IMO.

yeah. my fans were quieter than stock so i can't hear them come on with the car running, but i know they do come on while i'm flashing my PCM. I didn't get to drive the car enough before i realized i had to pull the motor back out.
