Help with Engine Trouble Code!!!!
I could really use some help in diagnosing this engine trouble code. i was just driving along yesterday when out of the blue the SES light came on. No change in driving or anything, just popped on. Anyway I got it scanned and the code number it gives is
P1133
It has something to do with Fuel/Air Mixture or something like that. I didn't really read the description that well unfortunately. I figured this was the place to get the answer I needed though.
For your info, I put new headers and catback on the car 3 weeks ago. I have a 97 and put 94/95 style headers and exhaust on. I got the 94/95 air pump fittings and got them in and fitted properly and put a different cat on the car. The post cat O2 sims are installed as well. What do you guys think?

From Shoebox's Tech Pages:
P1133 = Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) insufficient switching Bank 1 sensor 1
You driver side pre-cat sensor is "lazy". Is it possible you contaminated it while you were working on the exhaust? Are your headers "coated"? I'm starting to see a lot of cases of this code showing up after coated header install, and I'm trying to see if I can find a link to some sort of contaminant from the coating's initial heatup cycle.
Also might be related to a poor wiring job, or poor heating, but contamination is the most likely cause.

It's possible, the only question I have is why wouldn't it have shown up earlier? It's been driving ok for 3 weeks now.
BTW - headers are not coated.
I will check out the o2 sensor on the drivers side then.

Re: Help with Engine Trouble Code!!!!
My headers are coated with the Jet-Hot coating...
I had them installed in mid/late December, and I keep throwing P1153 and P1133 codes. I swapped the pre-cat O2 sensors with a set of Bosch 13111 rear Corvette O2 sensors, and I'm still getting the same thing.
How long (or how many miles) does it usually take for this coating to cure itself? I know there isn't a magic number or time frame, but just an approximation is what I'm looking for.

Re: Help with Engine Trouble Code!!!!
This resolved itself for me after I replaced the drivers side O2 sensor. It appears to have fouled itself and the new one did the trick. I waited about a month to do it, so that it didn't re-break itself though.
