SO how can i? It seems that half of the plugs are burning good, the other half or 3 are burning rich.. I Just replaced the plugs.. The car hesitates and has a bit of unnoticeable back fire, or so it sounds.. and the car back fires under WOT in first gear, after 1st gear its clean as anything, smooth and all... Just cruising around 2000 RPM it jerks around everynow and then, this never happened before, just started... Starts and idle fine.. doesnt seem to have any hesitation.. opti is brand new.. about 3000 miles

 

Take a long hard look at the wires in the dark and see if any of then ar arching, also check places where that wires touch anything else for burnt marks on the wire.

Dont forget to check the coil wire also
And after i changed my wires i noticed one would come loss from the opti every now and then so make sure al the wires ar on tight maybe unplug and plug them back in.

I had the worest time tring to get my coil wire on good behind the water pump

 

Wait till nightfall then pop the hood open while the car is running. If you notice a 4th of July celebration going on around the sparkplug wire areas, then you'll know which sparkplug wires are bad.

 

the best thing to do is to test the resistence of each wire with a multimeter. some brand new wires can be faulty.

 

"Hows the cap look?

Spray water on the plug wires and see if it helps.

A set of them is like $20 at the store..."

Make sure you take them off the Opti before you spray them
