does anyone know how much horsepower the power steering takes? maybe a before and after on a dyno? anyone?:-)

I don't see enough of a horsepower difference to justify not having it in your car, unless of course it is an all out drag only car.

I know someone who's done that, and from what I understand, it's mostly taking the weight off of the front of the car more so than the drag on the motor.

now its a idler pulley, i removed the vanes added about 2 oz oil plugged the ports and installed. working fine. its in a 944 and im doing manual steering instead of power. its a little harder to steer in the tight corners but much better road feel.

hey do you have a pic of that porsche with the lt1 in it, maybe of the engine bay, that sounds pretty sweet
