Hooker or Magnaflow?

After every headache I could possibly encounter with my TSP rumbler, I've finally shipped it back to TSP deciding that I just couldn't justify all the extra cash that it was costing me. Big thanks to Trevor for his help, by the way.

I'm leaving for college SOON and would like to order this exhaust today so that I don't drive up to school with an open cat. I've heard the maggies on an LT1 SS and it sounded really badass, but the hooker clips I've heard on this website sound good too, a little more hard edged and not quite as refined and unique as the magnaflow. What are the pros and cons of each? Is the magnaflow worth the price difference? What's the cheapest/fastest place to order each from?

Thanks in advance.

You can get the Magnaflow for basically the same price as the Hooker. My Hooker catback was $280, and I think you can get the Magnaflow for close to that off of Ebay brand new.

For what it's worth, I've heard more people complain about the sound of the Magnaflow than those that complain about the Hooker.

If you've already heard the Magnaflow and love it, buy it. It's stainless, which is a plus.

I'm undecided myself... I am gonna run Pacesetter or Jet Hot LT's which already is killed my brain, then i'm so confused about the catback... Hooker, Magnaflow, or Dynomax... I hear nothing but good things from all 3. Magnaflow gets the most negative responses, but they are so minimal. No one has clips of them so it makes it really tough for me to decide.

I was told that Hooker has a very deep rumble and is pretty quiet until WOT. Which is what I want, but what does that deep rumble sound like?! So many questions?! Not enough answers!!

I heard that sounds insane but I NEVER heard ANYTHING from a LT1. I also heard it takes a lot of volume away, which is a good thing, that true?

doesnt really take the volume away, but it takes the raspiness of the resonator away...

Yeah I'd like to see some Magnaflow clips too. I haven't seen any forsale online yet...I got more looking to do.

Hooker = Thunder Racing = $290 - 10% Discount = $261

Best price I've seen so far. Speed Engineering regular price is $350, but they're having a "contact us for special pricing" sale right now that I haven't checked out yet though.

Hooker

Sounds GREAT! You can order it from Thunder Racing. I ordered mine Monday, arrived Wednesday. It will be $286 shipped.

This month they have a 10% off deal on catbacks, code 10ULCB IIRC.

Good luck, can't go wrong with either.

Well i've spent the better part of the last 2 hours reading a lot of "hooker vs magnaflow" threads...you'd be surprised what a search turns up.

I'm leaning more towards the Magnaflow setup...but I need to hear some more clips first.

I'll most likely get Magnaflow.

Again: Since there seems to be several potential buyers here...
To get the Magnaflow for $280 shipped to your door, search ebay. Find the 2 (or more) large sellers -you'll know them as they have 2000+ feedbacks.

Email them. Tell them you want the cheapest available shipped price without any "freebies" thrown into the deal.
One or both should quote $280 or less.
