just get another stock one....there isnt really a high preformance opti...well there is one, but its overpriced and does exactly samething the stock one does It supposobly more water tight and u can replace everything in it.

Do a search on it, its hasnt been out for a very long time.

I don't post here as often as I used to, I'm trying to get back into the swing of things. I now feel I'm out of the loop.
So...what the heck is LTCC and SDI?
Anybody cares to elaborate, provide link or something?
Thx-Goose

i just got a new opti from jason cromer for $300. Gmpartsdirect has it for $230, but then shipping is 46. SO it come out the same. I prefered not to give business to gmpartsdirect since they try to act like they are selling it for cheaper, but then charge a minimum of 20% shipping and handling of the whole order. So they rip you off there.

LTCC is converting the LT1 to a LS1 style system of coil packs
http://www.geocities.com/reilym/LTCC/

SDI is super direct ignition made by electromotive which used 4 coils instead of 8, and used a magnetic pickup on the crank for a sensor, instead of the optical sensor. I dont think it is made anymore

Its a Electromotive SDI (Super Direct Ignition) Opti Delete.

Not really a solution for the opti, but it elimates it!

Heres INJ Fred's write up on it. I havent installed mine yet, but one day it'll go in.

Here You Go, Thanks Fred!

Its no longer sold, because as far as what I have read from Injuneer Fred, it 50% of the time operated 180 degrees out of phase! Since it used a crank position sensor rather than cam, it would judge compression stroke by the first TDC (I think) that passed the sensor. This may have in fact been the exhaust stroke. Therefore, 1 in 2 times the system would start up, but be spraying fuel onto closed valves. Car would run, but it wasn't optimal.

Thats what I THINK it was anyway.
