Hesitating while accelerating

started a week ago and i figured bad wires or plugs. it does it in all gears but more noticeable in 1st. in 1st i will give almost have throttle and it accelerates slow and the exhaust sounds pluged. then at 2800 rpms it drives like normal and will push me back in the seat. i did a couple searches and people said O2 sensors but nobody ever seemed to post after fixing it. Ive been getting worried thinking its the fuel system but i just dont know. Any input is appreciated.

Ill have to take a look at that. Im replacing my cat w/ an off road pipe soon (had it on for emission testing). Can i have it inspected to see exactly what the problem is because there are few things im thinking it is so it would save me some money on replacing parts that dont need to be replaced.

ditto.

Check your fuel pressure, if its somewhat low replace the filter, if it's still low the fuel pump is probably bad. If fuel is OK it's most likely spark. Do plugs/wires and if that doesn't do anything it's most likely your opti.

Re: Hesitating while accelerating

It ended up that the main engine wiring harness going to the computer was resting against the headers burning the sh** out of it and one bad wire on cylinder #6. Had the dealer splice the wires for the harness cuz i dont have the 1000 bucks to buy a used one.

Re: Hesitating while accelerating

Thats what my car did before the opti crapped out. It hesitated until about 2500 rpms then kicked in. Then one day I pulled out of my parking spot and it did the hesitation thing then died out completely and wouldn't start back up. I just replaced it today with the accel opti and that fixed the problem.

Re: Hesitating while accelerating

i had them run a diag. and i have a oil leak on the crank seal i think but the oil is hitting the pulley and some of its going into the opti. i have a 95 vented opti but it still probably hurts it. how much was that opti? did you also replace the cap and rotor?

Re: Hesitating while accelerating

I paid 300 including shipping for an accel opti from summit. I just got the whole unit instead of just a cap and rotor.
