HELP! Is there ANY outside difference between a 94-95 LT1 & 96-97?
Ok, I found an engine rebuilding company with a good price on a rebuilt LT1 for my 1995 Formula. $1925.00 shipped with a 3 year UNLIMITED mileage warranty Parts & Labor. BUT he says it shows a listing for 96-97 LT1 Vin P with Aluminum Heads. I THINK that they are all the same block wise and everything, just the dual cats I think is the only real difference between the two. Can anyone be of any help? Thanks in advance!

A 93-97 longblock will be identical one to another (there are some variations in head casting part #'s, etc that will not make a difference for your case).
Only diff it if comes with an intake is the 93 intake not having the crossover cutout for the fuel rail.

96 - 97 LT1's have the crank position sensor mounted in the timing cover; this will work with a 95 as the 95 doesn't use this sensor. The crank hubs are a different length so if the long block doesn't come with the hub installed, you can't use your 95 hub (too long).

http://www.automotiverebuilder.com/ar/ar99928.htm.... i thought the timeing chain cover was diffrent on the 96-97

The 96-97 hub is shorter as the reluctor, used for the crank position sensor, fits underneath the hub. As posted above, the timing chain cover can be removed, the reluctor removed and now your 93 - 95 hub will work.

Here's a drawing of what's going on from Shoebox's site:
