Help please! noise and weak crank

I have 93 z28 lt1 motor. I recently did my fuel pump where my car had sat for a week without moving. Now that the pump and lines are in, it is now very hard to crank, sometimes i can get it the first try, sometimes its after 10. In addition it has a squeal, similar to a bad belt. It also has weak acceleration. I figured it was spark related because my timing cover was leaking and it may have dried up on the wires. Today i replaced distributor, wires, plugs, water pump, and sealed the timing. All of the symptoms still remain and i cannot figure this out. My only guess is maybe somthing clutch related? Or maybe the starter since it had oil blowing on it. If anyone has any ideas, i am stumped.

Re: Help please! noise and weak crank

Have you checked the fuel pressure since the new pump?

You seem to be using the word "crank" to mean "start"... correct? People don't all use the word the same way. It sometimes starts on the first spin of the starter, and other times the starter spins 10 times before the engine starts? Does this correlate to engine temp - hot vs. cold? Is the battery in good shape? How much does the voltage drop on the dash gauge when the starter is engaged?

Have you checked for codes?

Could the squeal be the AIR pump? If you think that might be the problem, disconnect the pump and start it to see if the noise is gone? Have you checked the serpentine belt tension?

Re: Help please! noise and weak crank

The battery is new, as well as the tensioner. It does get fuel pressure. I am going to try and check for codes and see if the air pump does anything when i disconnect. Iv also replaced the ignition lock cylinder and switch to further eliminate ideas. What i meant by crank was that it trys to fire up but hesitates. Everything moves but wont start fully. Sometimes i move the key around violently and it will go after 10 trys, hence why i thought the lock cylinder. Sometimes when it starts up all the way, it just dies after 1 second.
