help with pcv system please
Okay I understand the basic concept of the pcv system but I was testing it the other day and I pulled out the value and there was a vacum sucking into the intake. Under normal logical sence should there not be a vacum sucking into the engine on the other side value cover? I took of the hose going to the tb and felt for a vacum there but nothing. Dose that mean that the pcv system is not working right?

Your's is OK..
The PCV valve in the intake is the part that has vacuum[drawing from crankcase into the intake] The psgr valve cover is the INTAKE for 'fresh air' TO the crankcase that is evacuated by the PCV valve into the intake[on drivers side] The psgr valve cover hose feeds metered[by MAF] air from the TB TO the crankcase.. in theory, there should be as much vacuum there as at the PCV, but there may not really be much noticeable vacuum there.. [don't forget 'blowby', etc. feeds the PCV also..] |
okay with that being said. Does that mean I have blowby in the engine and in't that bad???

All engines have some blowby.. do you have too much? hard to say...
Do a leakdown test, or when the oil cap is off does it 'puff' there noticeably? You are probably OK tho.. |
