help needed badly!!!

i was driving my car last night and hit a big puddle on the passenger side. suddenly my car was misfiring and stalling out really bad. it was still doing it this morning. i dont see how water could have gotten in the air intake so i am out of ideas. if anyone can help, please save my car (before i have to sell it!!!!)

One possibility is that you splashed water on your opti and we all know how they like water...

i agree with nateh. give it a couple of days to dry out and it will most likely go back to normal. you might get slight hesitations or stumbles everyonce in awhile though.

i hope that it is. not to doubt you guys, cause thats what i thought before, but i accidently drove through a flooded road up to the body once and it was totally fine. i just had the wires and plugs redone. so i hope that is it if anyone else can think of something please let me know.

My money is also on the demise of the optispark.

I totally agree. Next upgrade after my cam/heads/lifters/rockers/pushrods/headers upgrade next weekend (long weekend) will be the LTCC setup. Its such an ingenius Idea. I can't wait for it. Good Luck with the problem. But I vote OPTI as well. :( You do have a vented so that is a plus. Run it as much as possible to flow the air through there and prevent corrosion.

i second the opti. Those things suck. I replaced mine. not too bad but it still sucks.

From the LTCC website:

Benefits of the system are:

-extended opti life
-much stronger ignition at high RPM/boost
-built in adjustable rev limiter / two-step
-built in adjustable N2O / boost retard

Sounds good to me. :)
