help installing meziere, pics inside

I'm installing the meziere electric pump. I got the pump out, and had the bearing and impeller pressed out. Now, the next step is to put in the plug to plug up the hole. It says to plug it from the INSIDE, but I can't see how to put it in unless I destroy this metal bore that is there, and even if i take that out I'm not sure it will fit. The plug will fit if I plug it from the OUTSIDE, from the rear hoever if i do that then the force of the coolant inside may pop the plug out. Attached are pics of where I am at, as well as a pic of the directions.
Thanks

I have a Meziere that I haven't installed yet..
BUT the instructions in MINE says put the plug in the BACK side of the pump..[bought pump in 2000, and the sheet looks different than yours, pump still in box here.. wow that was a fast 3 yrs!]
Also, I assume you know that the plug goes in like a freeze/core plug [blunt/rounded end first], unlike the way that your pic shows ['sharp edge' first]
Possibly others can confirm that it goes in from the rear..
or email Mezeire and inquire why the CHANGE?
Sorry I can't confirm.. but I felt the instruction change well worth mentioning..
Also, my gut feeling says it would go in the back.. but that means nothing.. lmao

Maybe that's why they changed it they had failures.. though I can't imagine that since core plugs don't 'pop out' from cooling system pressure..

You need to pop off that inner bearing before you can install the freeze plug and it goes round end in first from inside to out. You can use a smaller diameter socket and just hammer it out.

thanks for the help, it's all done now.

I used a socket to take out the center piece, and I installed the plug from the inside like you said with the curved surface first not the edge.

Thanks again, just have to wire it up and I'm good.
