Help with engine swap

I'm new to your board and love the F bodies although I don't own one. However I recently purchased a 94 LT! out of a Firebird. I also purchased a 3 door 1971 Suburban out of AZ. The truck is an original 402BB/400 truck. I'm fixing to start the task of sticking this LT1 inj the Suburban and ask for any suggestions, parts sites or? I'm looking for a set of coated headers(long tube Pref) but I think any headers I purchase to fit a 71 Sub will not bolt up to late model heads. I'm also going to dress the motor up a bit and want to start with a aluminum finned or chromed oil pain. I can't find any and I also notice there is a knock sensor or? in the factory pan. I will buy a pro-charger soon and I want to do this thing right. I hope that you all might assist me in any way. Thanx allot!!

The sensor in the pan is the oil level sensor (it turns on the low oil light). You will be fine without it.

For headers I think you can use any small block headers that fit your suburban (truck headers probably fit) as long as you get primaries large enough so they don't shroud the d port lt1 heads. Call Jet Hot, they are great about helping people and I love my coated headers from them.

BTW that sounds like a very cool project. good luck.

Dustin
