Re: Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think you can get the opti to mate up incorrectly. But I could be wrong. Are you sure you got your plug wires on the right terminals? Sometimes I just have to ask the dumb questions!

What sounds horrible? More details please.

You'd have to be something really special to install the opti wrong....

Re: Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can get it on wrong but Im guessing spark plugs are crossed. My experience if the opti is on wrong the timing is so far off the motor wont even fire.

Its surprising easy. I didnt do it but I watched a friend do it. You basically force the dowel pin in one of the other 2 indexes. Again I didnt think it was possible till i watched it happen with my own eyes.

Re: Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was stumped for 3 days trying to figure out why my car wouldn't start. Just cranked and cranked and not even tried to fire. Just as I was about to take everything off, I noticed the wire looked kinda weird on the coil. I took it off and it turns out when I was taking the water pump off I damaged the plastic nipple type thing on the coil.. replaced it and it started right up. Worth a look.

People do it all the time. Sometimes it will run, sometimes not. It depends on how far off it is.

Re: Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd check the plug wires and if they're fine, i'd take the opti off and see if its in the right hole.

Re: Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i dont feel like taking off the opti! i seen on alldata today that i should put the #1 cylinder on top dead center cause when i move the harmonic balancer it moces the cylinders... would that help? it basically cranks but doesnt start up one time it started up and it just kept shooting pops and i think some black smoke. and yes i checked every single spark plug wire if there in the right spot.

Re: Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How is rotating the engine over gonna solve the problem, thats no different that cranking the car over and it not starting. We can't help you anymore than whats been said. You either screwed up the plug wire routing, have a bad opti, or you put the opti on wrong. It seriously takes 45 mins to have the opti off. Just take the damn thing off and check it.
